Qian Lihuai’s childhood was accompanied by the rustling of bamboo weaving. Born in a bamboo weaving family in Wuzhen, he grew up to follow his father and learn bamboo weaving, and now has become Zhejiang provincial inheritors of Wuzhen bamboo weaving. Over the years, he has tried to break through traditional shackles, and launched a new exploration of bamboo weaving creation from the form, material, color, pattern and other dimensions. He thinks the bamboo weaving art could be used as more than traditional utensils or decorations, and could also be attempted in materials, colors, patterns or other aspects, with new elements and shapes. At the same time, the traditional weaving techniques could be deconstructed, and different types of bamboo and various dyeing methods are combined to increase the charm and diversity of traditional Chinese bamboo weaving art. Rich texture and touch, diverse colors and patterns, smart shapes and designs, all add vitality and expression to the work. His works won the Gold Award of the 6th China (Zhejiang) Arts and Crafts Boutique Exposition, and another work Wuzhen Giant Plaque has been the landmark scenic spot in Wuzhen. Moreover, he has also worked with many international brands to explore the possibilities of traditional Chinese bamboo weaving in a modern aesthetic.

These thinkings also drive him to achieve milestone achievements on the road of bamboo weaving creation.
